Application Procedure

When do I have to apply?

The application period for the upcoming winter semester starts at February 1st and will last until March 15th for German citizens and most international applicants.

Where do I apply?

You have to apply via the web portal of Heidelberg University. Go to the program webpage, press the “Add bookmark +” button, and follow the instructions on the following pages.

Application procedure

Is the application digital or do I have to send the printed documents by mail?

The application process is entirely digital, and no physical documents need to be submitted to complete your application process. You are required to show the original version of your documents during enrolment.

I made a mistake in my application for admission. Should I send in a new application form?

No! Please send an email to our central student administration and explain what went wrong. Remember to include your application number and applicant number in your email.

How do I know that I was accepted for the Molecular Systems Science and Engineering (MSc) program?

You can check the status of your application in the heiCO application portal. You will receive an official admission letter called “Zulassungsbescheid” once you have been accepted.
